User Management in Acorn and LucidLink

Acorn provides you with an account used to administer Acorn as well as LucidLink.

Your administrator account will be named for your environment such as “hello” and is used to administer both Acorn and LucidLink

Login to LucidLink with your default account.

Launch LucidLink and click Connect to another Filespace

Enter your Filespace name which will be your customer environment name followed by a -acorn and ending with .chesa

For example my customer environment name is hello, so my Filespace name is hello-acorn.chesa

Click Continue

Enter your Acorn default username and password and click Connect

Once logged in to LucidLink click the LucidLink icon found in your OS menubar and then click the Control panel icon as shown.

Enter your Acorn default user password and click Open control panel

Within the Control panel select Users from the sidebar. This will reveal your Acorn default user.

This user has the role Administrator and can be used to manage LucidLink shares.

Select Groups from the sidebar. This will reveal the Acorn default group name Media

Select Shares from the sidebar. This will reveal the Acorn default shares.

Edit Proxies - a readonly share that contains all edit proxies generated by Acorn

Ingest - a read/write share used for ingesting files into Acorn

Media - a readonly share that contains all original source content ingested into Acorn

Adding and removing users within Acorn and LucidLink is done via the Acorn UI.

Login to Acorn with your default account.

Select the admin “cog” located in the menubar

Select Users in the sidebar to reveal the Acorn default users.

The admin and worker users are system users that should not be modified.

Your default Acorn user, which in the case of this example is hello is used to manage Acorn.

To add a new user click Add found in the bottom right

Assign at least a username, password, and a primary role and click OK

Acorn, by default, has two roles.

System Administrator which gives users administrator privileges within Acorn and LucidLink

Media which is assigned to all non-admin users so that they can access Acorn media and LucidLink shares.

The user is now created within Acorn and LucidLink

Let’s create another user and this time assign it the System Administrator role

This new user admin1 is now a system administrator within Acorn and LucidLink

You can add/remove administrator privileges for a particular user by switching their primary role within Acorn.
